FC Barcelona's goalkeepers are as good as bulletproof

Claudio Bravo, Marc-André ter Stegen and Jordi Masip combine forces to keep Barça's net well guarded
FC Barcelona's unparalleled level of play recently, as proven by the team's 33-game unbeaten streak, has brought tons of attention to their feared attack. Nevertheless, the goalkeeping corps deserves plenty of credit, too, in helping lead Barça to their current eight-point lead in La Liga, their already booked appearance in the Copa del Rey Final, and great shot at the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

In those 33 games, goalkeepers Claudio Bravo, Marc-André ter Stegen and, to a lesser extent, Jordi Masip, have been wholly responsible for a string of excellent performances in goal. Bravo is Barça's man for league games, while Ter Stegen has played in all the games in the Copa del Rey and Champions League, except for the Cup's last-32 first leg against Villanovense, when Masip played.

Goals against average remains constant

During the 33-game streak, the three goalkeepers have given up only 18 goals, an average of just 0.54 per game. Incredibly, since 1 January 2016, their performance has been even better, coming in at 0.53 (they've had nine single-goal games in 17 played).
Their trio's shutout record during the streak is impressive as well — 17 clean sheets while only twice conceding more than one goal. Those two matches were Barça's 5–2 win over Rayo Vallecano and their 2–2 draw with Deportivo, both at Camp Nou.
Besides the numbers, all three goalkeepers bring outstanding footwork to the position, providing another option to their teammates in pressure situations in their own end.
