Samatta targets to join Africans domination in Belgian goal charts

TANZANIAN star, Mbwana Samatta has yet to score for his new team, KRC Genk but a quick glance at the top scorers list of the Belgian top flight gives the impression that it is an African contest. Strikers from the continent are dominating, with six featuring among the top ten.

Malian striker Abdoulay Diaby, who plays for Club Brugge, Benin star Frederic Gounongbe of Westerlo, Algerian Sofiane Hanni of Mechelen and veteran Senegalese striker M\Baye Leye of Zulte-Waregem are joint-top.
Together with Belgian Sven Kums, all the four forwards have 12 goals this season. Zimbabwe’s Knowledge Musona and Cote d’Ivoire star Zoro Cyriac, both of KV Oostende are the others in the top ten with 11 goals apiece. Musona, Leye, Hanni, Diaby were all on target for their clubs last weekend. 27 rounds of league football have been done.
Samatta featured for some few minutes for Genk in a 1-0 win over Mouscron-Peruwelz on February 6th and in a 6-1 win over Waasland-Beveren on February 13th.
He also featured in a barren draw game against Lokeren last Saturday.
Samatta is also available for selection in a league game against Club Brugge at their Cristal Arena tomorrow.
