Manuel Neuer not interested in Premier League despite Man City links

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has praised Pep Guardiola as one of his "biggest mentors" but ruled out a move to Manchester City in the near future.
Bayern defender David Alaba, meanwhile, is reportedly set to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena despite also being linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Neuer, 29, joined Bayern from Schalke in 2011 and is under contract until 2019, but the Germany international was recently touted as one of Guardiola's top targets when he leaves for City in the summer.
However, Guardiola subsequently said Neuer would remain at Bayern for several years, and the keeper has now told Munchener Merkur he is not interested in big-money offers from the Premier League.
"I am not affected by it predominantly because I like to play in the Bundesliga," Neuer said. "I know which teams play here and what type of football is played. I like the way our team plays very much.
"I've still got a long-term contract, and everything is OK. It all fits."
Neuer praised former Barcelona coach Guardiola's influence on his career.
"I've trained under a lot of coaches and always picked up elements that develop a player," Neuer said. "I am always looking forward to new tasks, new ideas of how to play football -- Pep has given us a lot regarding all of that.
"Especially the tactics, the football brains, how you interpret football, he is one of my biggest mentors."
Austria international Alaba has also been linked with a move to City and said last month he was putting talks over a new contract on hold until the end of the season.
However, German tabloid Bild reports that the 23-year-old, who is also reportedly of interest to Real Madrid, has now agreed to extend his current terms, which are due to expire in 2018.
The paper said the deal was verbally agreed last week and all that is missing is Alaba's signature.
Later on Monday, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told dpa that Guardiola never tried to sign Alaba away from Munich.
He said: "That's false. Pep Guardiola never approached David Alaba to convince him of a switch to Manchester City."
